What is the cheapest form of birth control (NOT CONDOMS)?

I just went to pick up my first month's prescription of Loestrin 24 FE...with my insurance, it will be $53.00

I need something around $20-$30 a month, not $50.What is the cheapest form of birth control (NOT CONDOMS)?
some bc's are on the walmart $4.00 pharmacy plan. ask the pharmacist there first to see which ones than talk to your DrWhat is the cheapest form of birth control (NOT CONDOMS)?
Well, first of all Loestrin FE is a brand medication, not a generic. Does your prescription coverage apply to birth control ($53 is a plausible price for Loestrin without insurance, that's why I ask). If your insurance does cover oral contraceptives, and offers a lower price for generics, the next thing to do is to check with your doctor about going on a generic birth control pill. I would say most doctors have no problem with generics as long as their patient is okay with it.

So in short, if your insurance covers birth control and generics are a considerably lower price, call your dr for a generic form of oral contraceptions (there's Microgestin FE, which also has the iron in it, hence the FE).

If oral contraceptives aren't covered, there's Ortho Options prefilled spermicidal applicators (probably $14 for 10). It's applied much like inserting a tampon, and it's quick to do so it doesn't really ruin the moment.

P.S. Another option is to see if your insurance does mail order prescriptions. If they do you might be able to get 3 months of pills for a price pretty close to a 1 month supply at a retail pharmacy (i.e. 3 months for $50 through mail order).
Ask your doctor to put you on a birth control that has a generic counterpart..like ortho tri cyclen or one of the others that have been around forever. My generic of ortho-cyclen (its called sprintec) is only $10/month :)

Loestrin 24 FE is relatively new and there probably isn't a generic version out there yet.

Hope this helps!
Ask your doctor to indicate that generic substitutions are allowed for your prescription. The generic equivalent of Loestrin is Microgestin (you should probably double check that with your Doc or pharmacist). According to this site, you can get it for as cheap as $25.00 at CVS.com. http://www.pharmacychecker.com/Pricing.a鈥?/a>
I went on Deopprovera. Its a shot once every 3 months in your butt. It costs about $40 which isnt bad for 3 months. It does cause you not to have your period though which some people do not like too much but personally i love it! Its just as effective as the pill too. Talk to your doctor about it! So over the year it will cost $160 total but you may get this cheaper through your benifits! My benifits allows me this prescription for $7! I pay $7 every 3 months and im good to go! Good Luck!
honey to control birth i guess i have the cheapest solution that is have u seen castor oil ok do one thing if u dont want a baby for 1 year swallow only 1seed if u dont want for 2 years swallow 2 seeds ok and dont excess it from 3
im not sure bout that. i used to go to planned parenthood and get the stuff for free, just put down u dont have insurance they dont ask questions, n give it to u. but since my moms a nurse for a obgyn i can get free, orthotricyclen lo, wich is expensice, and also yaz, but im on ortho now. you can ask ur health care provider if there is a cheaper one. the ones at planned parenthood where called Watson.
In the long run I'd say an IUD. It varies on upfront cost depending on what your incurance covers.

Of your wanting the pill, I took Ortho-tri cyclen and it was between $9 and $20. (I changed insurance companies.)

Talk with your doctor about other options and the costs. He (or she) should be able to help you out more...
ask the drug store what the cost would be if you got the generic brand. Its the same pill without the fancy packaging and the name stamped on the pill. That's what I did and mine is only 16.00! Plus make sure your going some place like Walmart or Target for the best deal!
Abstinence its not the funnest but its the cheapest
OK. Condoms aren't the most romantic and might take some of his feeling alway but they may keep you alive!!!!! use them, even if he says no. If so tell him no!!

Try going into a planned parenthood for your b/c pills.
