Spiritually Asking: Do you believe that religion is just another form of mind control?

because the religious believers seem very brain-washed by religious beliefs, D'ohSpiritually Asking: Do you believe that religion is just another form of mind control?
Religion survives because it sells guilt and fear to the sheeple. That is mind control alright.Spiritually Asking: Do you believe that religion is just another form of mind control?
Your question is just another form of unoriginality. Which is worse, being Christian? Or being boring, banal, and capable only of piecing together snippets of pop culture into what appear to be a thought?

I agree some religious people live in a fog. A God fog, where everything they do, it comes back to God. How about you? What's your poison? My guess is pop culture. You lap up everything the TV and internet toss to you, and are told what to think by vapid douchebags on TV.

So let me guess, ever since your teenage years, you've taken on kind of a detached, sarcastic, cynical world-weary persona, like 100 million other young suburban white adults across the country.

Brainwashed by pop culture and by a religion both seem equally pathetic to me.
The Human Touch

“A rolling stone gathers no moss”. Yes, society has a responsibility to the poor and yes a responsibility to be politically active. But sometimes I feel like Elena who stares at a blank computer screen in her office hour after hour, getting almost nothing done, and has actually curled up on the floor and cried on occasion. Sometimes I wonder if it’s a conspiracy that nothing ever gets done the way we imagine it to get done. Last night I heard that in Alaska there’s a military base Haarp who has a steerable electromagnetic beam instrument (Star Wars) of selectively destabilizing agricultural and ecological systems of entire regions. But the headlines this week “Tiger’s perfect image falls to pieces.” Last election we nailed Bush to a cross because he was fighting a war that people felt we shouldn’t have been there in the first place. But the day after September 11th everybody wanted justice and in March of 2003 the senators and the whole kit and kaboddle signed off on the course of action. It was only after a few years’ people felt it wasn’t the right course of action. Well once you leave you home you can’t go back. In 2007 one of Obama campaign promises was were going to pull out of the war. And the people like that tune because it was peaceful and another day in the life of society schizophrenia. Now were back trying to finish the job that we original signed off on and we have a new scapegoat in case things don’t fall into place. But sometimes I feel like Elena who stares at a blank computer screen in her office hour after hour, getting almost nothing done, and has actually curled up on the floor and cried on occasion.
Did you know that any man can control your mind and brain-wash you? When a person believes in Jesus Christ and has faith in Him and that all His words are truth, that comes from the heart. No man can ';mind'; control your heart or ';brain'; wash your heart. We have free will to choose in our heart to accept God or not.
no it is a way of freeing yourself from the enslaving aspects of this life like; selfishness, sloth, addiction, greed, lust etc. etc.

If you think your not a slave to something then try to live without it. Go ahead and try a week without coffee, or a smoke or even a beer, food also can enslave people, try fasting for a day and see what you crave. Yep it is slavery and we do it to ourselves.

Only the truth of Jesus Christ can free us from this bondage.
Nobody controls my mind sunshine. On the other hand, the way that you just repeat a standard atheist slur, like some robot, suggests that your mind is well and truly under somebody's control.
it is

yes

but jesus also said that the ';truth'; will set you free

so something in religion, if it is undefiled, is best in religion
There is still a possibility to do what you want to do, be it right or wrong...

there is no mind control.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?…
Everything is a form of mind control, some things, like religion, are just more obvious. To most of us.
No one controls us. We chose to believe because our minds and hearts recognize the existence of God. Something your mind seems incapable of doing.
Your question seems awfully familiar as if brainwashed to say it.
Those that encourage missionarism...sometimes yes
Anything that deals with ideas could be construed as a form of mind control.
To me its freedom, you don't have to worry about your next lie its all perfect clear.
In short, definitely
A little mind control might help...your brain is on fire man!
Not another form, it is THE best form of mind control.
You'll have to give us an example of being 'brainwashed'.

Or just me, you can e-mail it to me.
absolutely
You've been brainwashed by Satan. I hope you like hot weather.
