I'm married, want to have sex and I've already had a little one and I know that abstinence is the best way blah blah blah blah...Whats the best form of birth control?
Talk to your doctor- there are plenty of easy birth control methods out there now. The pill being the most effective and proven method- it allows you to have sex without extra protection (read: more fun!) It also regulates your menstrual cycle.
There are of course many more options besides barrier methods which, for married couples, aren't the best solution. Vaginal ring, IUD, the patch, DepoProvera... just to name a few!Whats the best form of birth control?
Well, depends on what is important to you when you think about birth control.
For me, I abhor anything that does upheavals to my hormones as I believe more in holistic health. Thus, I will NEVER choose to use pills.
So I dun really have much choice left but to use the condom.
However, that is not a very good way as the protection is only 90% max. My son was concieved while i used a condom... ;)
So it really depends on what is important to you. Are you looking for convenience, how it affects our health or effectiveness?
Vasectomy works all the time.
all of them are good but you should see your nurse to see what is better for you

How about this form of gun control?
Kennesaw currently has 30,000 residents.
In March 1982, 25 years ago, the small town of Kennesaw 鈥?responding to a handgun ban in Morton Grove, Ill. 鈥?unanimously passed an ordinance requiring each head of household to own and maintain a gun. Since then, despite dire predictions of ';Wild West'; showdowns and increased violence and accidents, not a single resident has been involved in a fatal shooting 鈥?as a victim, attacker or defender.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news鈥?/a>How about this form of gun control?
Big Smalls...Kennesaw is still very much metro Atlanta and within Cobb County which does have a lot of crime. Of course the city limits of Atlanta will have more crime, all inner cities do. But Kennesaw is an example of how law abiding gun ownership doesn't increase crime as liberals love to believe. How about this form of gun control?
As a resident of Georgia, I can assure you that the story is not as amazing as it seems. This IS the south. Have you ever been? Kennesaw isn't in any way the same as the city of Atlanta (for example), where the population is higher, and the demographic vastly different. Kennesaw, before the ordinance, didn't see the level of crime seen just 20 minutes down I-75, and still does not today. Your article isn't news to me, and changes nothing. Those who carry guns are more likely to be effected by incidents involving guns.
I say hell yeah. This is what our founding fathers would have wanted. Everyone should own at least one gun if not more. I love the 2nd ammendment. And believe me there will come a day when they want to take away everyone's guns. And that's the day someone will step on my porch asking for my guns and have a hole in their guts. God Bless Our Republic.
Every household in Switzerland is required to have a rifle.
It's the main reason why nobody's ever messed with Switzerland.
Interesting indeed but more study is required - would you support this law in down town Harlem ? Or Watts ?
Nobody ever messes with switzerland because they have those swiss army knives.
you are forgetting the part that it's a small town. Lets make every person in New York to maintain a gun... That will not work the same way at all.
Gun control is the ability to put the second bullet through the hole made by the first one.
That is amazing!
wow!! thats great gun control
I cant complain about this idea
if you show me your gun I'll show you mine
hehehe

Is organized religion a form of mind control?
YES!! There is always some ';holy'; or priest class who ';knows more than YOU do'; and they have the ';in'; with God- ONLY they can do ';the sacrifice'; (think of roman catholic- the mass is the daily sacrifice- the laity then eat it- the whole hierarchy understands the scripture, not the ';congregation';)
The Ayatollahs get blind followers- the JW's ';elders'; and Mormons too- their ';elders'; or whatever they call them- have the insight- and ought to be obeyed!! or else!
The Llamas used to be part of a very cruel ruling class too- it wasn't so lovely and peaceful as the myth built up about Nepal and Tibet is today!!!
The Brahmas looked down on the lower castes! It is the same everywhere!
NO, organized religions are NOT what God has in mind.
It's between us and God, personally. NO more ';go-betweens'; now, we have Christ, and Christ alone. Is organized religion a form of mind control?
yes. and so is the media...
just look around you and see how many people dress contrary to what they see on tv or the movies....
and why do people vote for the guy with the most publicity? why not the guy or gal with no publicity? why get your info from the tv when you can research the candidates yourself and NOT be told what to think about the person....Is organized religion a form of mind control?
I prefer to think of it this way:
';If organised religion is the opium of the masses, then disorganised religion is the marijuana of the lunatic fringe';
- Kerry Thornley
The thing is, people don't know that they have been brainwashed. That is WHY it is called ';mind control';. They claim religion is a conscious decision but they are not aware, it is only a symptom of social conditioning.
somehow to me it is because religion should be helping to find the god inside you but it seems that is not the direction of most religion....
It can be. That's why it's so hard to find a true church that focuses on God's teachings and doesn't include cultural/personal biases and temptations that can poison the ministry of the church.
Not necessarily. It depends on the religion in question.
Scriptures such as Matthew 24:14 shows that there would be a need for an organized group for that work to be accomplished.
Yes. I go to church to learn how to let God control my mind because I do not do a very good job of it.
No one forced me to be a Christian, I made a fully conscious decision.
No more so than TV.
Yes, in a nutshell, it is.
only if its cults that deny the trinity..

Is abstinence the best form of birth control?
Of course! It's 100% effective, there's no risk of STDs, it doesn't cost a dime, no risk of physical or emotional problems, and there's no sin involved! What could be better? Is abstinence the best form of birth control?
Of course it is!
Condoms, birth control pills, and other birth control methods are not 100% fool proof. They can still fail and result in pregnancy. If you are not ready to take on the responsibility of another human being, simply don't have sex.Is abstinence the best form of birth control?
It is the only form of birth control that is 100% effective
obviously
No, it isn't. Although abstinence is the only way to absolutely certain that pregnancy does not occur it will only work if you actually abstain. I think that having a backup plan in place is always a good idea.

Using birth control as a form of abortion?
so this was a weird thing i heard about using birth control pills to abort a fertalized egg. it was really strange and i was just curious about anyones take on it.
it was said that if you take 2 pills every two hours it was able to abort the egg and forcing you to have your period. the reason is because since you are taking so much of the pill that it is putting all this estrogen inside your body that it gives out and leads to a miscarriage.
it sounds pretty dangerous and poisonous to me.
your opinion?Using birth control as a form of abortion?
Actually, the method you describe is pretty much the same idea as plan B. it's what docs used to use before Plan B was offered. It's two pills three times a day for two days if I recall correctly (I had a close friends do it many years ago).
Plan B is just a concentrated dose of a slightly different hormone. Works the same way as if you go the birth control pill route. If you have an egg fertilized, the pills prevent it from implanting in your uterus. Not quite the same as abortion, which rips an implanted and growing fetus from your womb.
Personally, I don't consider them to be the same thing, although many who believe life begins at the moment of conception disagree. Here's how I think of it: if a fertilized egg can't turn into a baby without implantation, then how is it an unborn child? If you consider all fertilized eggs to be babies, then what about all those frozen embryos in fertility centers? If the fertility doc implants like 5, hoping one will catch, then would you say the other four were ';aborted'; because they didn't implant? What about the leftovers that aren't used because the couple gets pregnant? Should they be forced to bring all of those to term?
Just my perspective. Hope it helps. BTW, I am generally pro-life, but also choose to use my own mind to decide what is right and wrong.Using birth control as a form of abortion?
I suggest you get a new hobby dear. Try tatting or petit point.
It sounds unhealthy and just as disgusting. If you're against abortion, why would you force yourself into a miscarriage? It's hypocritical. I suppose it depends on how far along you are when you take it, but... I really don't see much of a difference. A day-after pill is one thing, but a force-miscarriage is just... wrong.
Yeah w/e ... I'm a Catholic school gurl, and abortions sound ok to me. are not bad.
Just to add:
If you take too many and the fetus doesnt abort and you actually deliver the baby will most likely come out with a lot of different birth defects (ie born with out a brain, and trust me I didnt believe it til I seen it for myself)
that doesnt seem safe!
one alternative is just to get 'the morning after pill' and use that.
hope this helps!
sounds very unhealthy and dangerous
I believe you would ebd up in the hospital and may still be pregnant!
pretty dangerous and poisonous.
It's not a good idea...sometimes the fetus will still form altho it will have abnormalities some of which are not compatable to life. Or you'll have a stillborn baby.
Cat curiosity get my drift...
i know somepeople may find they need to have an abortions but to do it on their own buy overdosing on birth control is murder and just plain wrong in my opinion.
but to answer your question, im not sure but it definately sounds dangerous to me. and irrisponsible not something i would not do
Technically: no. either someone has been giving you night mares, or giving out info wrong. It keeps the egg from fertilizing...so there is no baby in u in the first place so technically it is not a form of abortion...
babies are sweet! when ur ready, you should def have one!
Regular birth control doesn't work like that. Regular birth control on affects ovulation and prevents the fertilization of an egg. The morning after pill IS an abortive, it does not prevent ovulation, it does not prevent fertilization of an egg however it does (at least 85% of the time in CORRECT circumstances) prevent implantation of an already fertilized egg. I often question when young women will actually start listening to their doctors and pay attention to the information given with their regular birth control rather than rely on the undereducated old wive's tales they get from their peers. SIGH...no wonder so many teens are pregnant these days.
Wouldn't recommend it .
i wouldn't risk it. sounds like you could poison yourself
Plan B is now available in most drug stores. I would go that route instead of trying to take your birth control pills in large quantities. That does not sound safe.

Why is Depo-Provera the best form of birth control? writing an essay for english class, need sources.?
Just curious - is this the topic you were assigned, or did you pick it?
There are a lot of pros and cons to every type of birth control...depo isn't necessarily the best. It's ';easy'; (a shot every three months), and for some women it can helps lighten flow/ease cramping. But...it's a synthetic hormone and can cause really unpleasant side-effects such as depression, calcium loss in your bones, weight-gain and loss of sex drive (among many others). Also, if you are using depo and plan to become pregnant, your body will need about a full year to return to fertility.
The ';best'; form of birth control, ultimately, is the one that will be used correctly every time, and has the least amount of objectionable side effects for the user. Why is Depo-Provera the best form of birth control? writing an essay for english class, need sources.?
Well, depends what you mean by ''best''. It is the most effective of all hormonal methods in preventing pregnancy, but it is also only to be used as a last resort when other methods aren't appropriate. It contains no estrogen, and a synthetic version of progesterone. The side effects include more weight gain than the pill (11 lbs vs 4 lbs), mood swings, it lowers the calcium in your bone (bone density loss) so you need to take a calcium supplement while on it, and you should not use it longer than two consecutive years. After you quit taking Depo it can take 9 months to resume a regular menstrual cycle and become fertile again. I am on it and I love it, but I understand the risks involved. A lot of women will tear it apart because they're not familiar with the pharmacology behind it and used it without educating themselves first and then experienced some of the many side effects. They advertise no period, but only about 50% of users lose it completely. Others spot, some quite continuously.
That said, you don't have to take a pill every day, it's effective for three months, it is most effective of all hormonal methods, it's cheap (~$40 a shot), and it can also be used as treatment for endometriosis.
If you're looking for real sources use Google Scholar and find peer reviewed articles written by real doctors. They will be non-biased and accurate.

Is anyone bothered that some people use abortions as a form of birth control?
It bothers me too. There are so many other options. I feel don't kill the child b/c of your stupidity. It makes me mad to hear that women are having abortions b/c lack of birth control. I'm 20 years old and this is my 1st child i'm having, the baby was unexpected but the father and I are doing what we need to do and preparing for the bundle of joy thats going to be in our lives. Is anyone bothered that some people use abortions as a form of birth control?
I don't think it should be used as a form of birth control. I also don't agree with them in general. Is anyone bothered that some people use abortions as a form of birth control?
Yes, I am so sick of hereing about the morning after pill that I could puke. Hell put a coat on the thing or keep it in there pants. And the women need to grow up and act more there age instead of shoe size.
you do?
bothered! ugh! i hate it! it is disgusting and uncalled for. you spread em you get em! deal with it already and be a real woman and raise your kids...don't kill them!
I am extremely bothered. I think it's sad that I live in a country that allows murder to go on each and every day. I see girls who have had more than ten abortions. I want to tell those dumbies that hey, birth control is free at the health clinic. Abortion is f u c ked up and the people that argue for it are too.
I'm bothered by the idea of someone using abortion as a form of birth control....however, I feel like women should have a choice too! But, using this as a form of birth control is not only lazy, but very disgusting too!!!
Yes! Very much bcuz it's laziness. I've known and heard of women having 3-5 abortions bcuz she (obviously) didn't FEEL like using a condom or getting on birth control. It's awful and neglegent. And some say ';don't be so harsh, she's going through a hard time'; but I could see the first time as a hard time, but what about after the 3rd time? What do you call it then? People don't want to realize that they are responsible for themselves and their actions. They're so quick to blame someone else in any situation. I'm fat- it's McDonalds fault. I'm depressed- it's my Dad's fault. I'm knocked up again- it's that ******* fault. I'm broke- it's my boss' fault. So when do people wake up and take responsibility for themselves? Nobody wants to! They want someone to make their decisions, pay their bills, feed them and wipe their a**.
Yes this bothers me very much, its sick how some people can do that! why cant they just go out and buy sum condoms or get some birth control??
I dont judge people who have had abortions its their right. Its not something I personally would do but I dont judge others. Using it as birth control is a little uncalled for and I think they need to realize what its doing to their bodies each time they do it, I also wonder how many make up bs stories to get people on here all riled up
hell yea should not be haveing sex if cant take care of baby
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Women - you have other options.
Men - help her look at all the options.
Yes, I am a Christian and I believe abortion is murder. You can have a baby for free these days and you can also give it up for adoption for free. I wish I could just up and have a baby but it isn't in the cards for me.
It does bother me. I am pro choice and very strong believe that a woman has a choice in the outcome with her pregnancy. But a woman needs also to take responsibility for her reproduction. I would think preventing pregnancy would be easier being that abortions are expensive, painful, can have side effects and can be emotionally draining. You would think after the first unwanted pregnancy, they would learn.
During my second pregnancy, I had considered abortion due to health reasons. That time was one of the most pain full and stressful times of my life. Thankfully, the new medicine worked and I did not have to make that decision. I just do not understand how someone could think... ';well, I don't need to use a condom, I'll just have an abortion';.
YES! I am totally against abortion!!! Give the baby up for adoption for pete's sake!
Amen!!! It bothers me big time! My husband and I have been trying to have another one, and I keep having miscarriages. Its depressing seeing these ppl abort healthy babies. Someone yesterday admitted to aborting twins!!!! Sometimes I honestly cry reading these things. I really do.
It's really none of my business what another person does, but simply taking the birth control pill AND using condoms is much easier, cheaper, less stressful, and obviously less morally debatable, therefore better for the woman herself. If you know you can't handle a baby, why wouldn't you take all the precautions available? Abortions are available for EMERGENCY situations, but a few women take advantage of them as ';their right';...yes, you have that legal right, but don't you owe it to yourself (even if you don't think you owe it to your child) to have more respect and care for your own body to at least make an ATTEMPT not put it through such an ordeal?
What REALLY kills me are the questions about ';I had an abortion last month then had sex five times in the enxt month and we used the pull-out method...can I be pregnant?'; Uhhh, if you just had ONE unwanted pregnancy, wouldn't you wise up and prevent yourself from having another one?
Ah yes the alleged women who use abortions as birth control. Have any evidence that they even exist, because I haven't seen any.
i think it is wrong to have an abortion in any case, but i do feel its crazy to keep having abortions because you chose not to use protection. i had an aunt that had 5 abortions, I figure she was old enough to figure out how babies are made!! but i guess not!!
i definately am. why would you kill the child you brought into the world because of one stupid mistake? was it the baby's fault? my goodness.
yes i hate it i am appalled by it i think it is soo stupid their killing a human being it is terrible i am absoulty disgusted by it
Birth control is suppose to prevent the pregnancy taking place. Having an abortion is preventing responsibility for not being smart and preventing the birth in the first place. Whoever thiks that this is a form of birth control is a F**kin retard.
I do not agree with abortion instead of birth control either, but I am not totally against it for certain reasons. My view on this has changed completely within the past week. I used to be so pro life!
I am going through something right now that is tearing me apart. I found out 2 weeks ago that my hubby and I were successful in making baby #3 and we were extremely happy until we found out this week, after going to ER for chest pain, that I have a major heart condition and that 60% of women who carry a baby through pregnancy with this condition will die. Abortion is recommended for patients with this condition. I have 2 children already that need me and I have also spent my adult life risking my own life to save others as an EMT and firefighter. Now I am stuck with making a decision that no mom should ever have to make.
The abortion issue is not cut and dry like I used to believe. I now understand that there are some acceptable reasons.
Sorry for responding to other comments instead of answering your question, but my response should tell you everything you need to know about where I stand...
As for the ';mythological'; women who use abortion as birth control: Number one, it may be argued that when you do not use protection, end up pregnant, and get an abortion, you are using abortion for birth control. That's not a difficult argument to make. If, when I have sex, I use a condom to avoid having a baby, I am using a condom as birth control, am I not? How is it different when a woman says, ';hey, if I end up pregnant, I'll just get an abortion';? That is her method of birth control.
And number two: I have personally known people who have had multiple abortions. As in more than two. More than three. More than four. What other form of birth control could these women possibly be using? Time to switch, I would say. The only times that abortion is not ';used as birth control'; are when the mother has been raped (who takes birth control in case they're raped?) or when there is a developmental problem with the baby. Or in cases that jeopardize the LIFE of the mother- as in Wormbutt's case. Neither would justify abortion for me personally, but those are the only cases over which the woman herself has no control. In normal cases of consensual sex, there is NEVER an excuse to say ';Oh, oops. Looks like I'm gonna have to have an abortion.';
And ';what does abortion have to do with pregnancy?'; Really, now. What DOESN'T it have to do with pregnancy?
I have an aunt and uncle who waited FOUR YEARS to adopt a child when she couldn't conceive. Isn't it interesting that the number of children murdered in utero in this country is almost EXACTLY equal to the number of prospective adoptive parents. The ';unwanted babies'; argument does not hold any water. THERE ARE NO UNWANTED BABIES. Just because the mother doesn't want them, that does NOT make them UNWANTED. There are thousands of families out there who DESPERATELY want them.
I keep hearing women say ';It's one thing to have it happen once. But to keep doing it... that's awful.'; Why is it awful? It's only awful if it is in fact a baby. If it's not a baby, then it's no different from getting a tattoo, and then getting another, and then another. And if it IS in fact a baby, then it's awful the first time, and the second, and the third... It's always awful. It's always murder. Or it never is. I don't understand the argument that it's okay if she doesn't make a habit of it.
i think for every person its diffrent depends on the circumstance but to keep having them 1 after another is just awful
What does this have to do with pregnancy?
Not really. If someone is dumb enough to shell out hundreds of dollars for an abortion instead of using a condom or getting the pill what kind of parent would they be?
ugh u ppl r so closed minded..yall make me so ******* frustrated...did itever occur to ne of u that sometimes u have to do that...in sum situations thats sumthing that has to b done? prolly not cuz yall r so damn perfect that u could never b raped...i hate to break it to u but the fact that we live in america means we get to have a choice....yea u get to have ur opinions but didnt ur moms ever teach u if u dnt have ne thing nice to say dont say ne thing...
And number two: I have personally known people who have had multiple abortions. As in more than two. More than three. More than four. What other form of birth control could these women possibly be using? Time to switch, I would say. The only times that abortion is not ';used as birth control'; are when the mother has been raped (who takes birth control in case they're raped?) or when there is a developmental problem with the baby.
